The Course Director (CD) Workshop consists of eight hours of focused training and an exam intended to prepare military CDs for successful preparation and implementation of the Occupational Hearing Conservation (OHC) certification and recertification courses for enlisted and civilians attending a DoD sponsored OHC course.
CD certification and re-certification are granted for five years.
DoD candidates that are certified audiologists, industrial hygienists, occupational health nurses, speech language and hearing professionals, safety engineers,noise-control engineers, occupational medical physicians or otolaryngologists are eligible to become course directors. Additionally AuD students, that are enrolled in their last year of instruction, are eligible to take the course but will not be allowed to teach the course until they graduate from their respective program.
