CAOHC to Present Professional Supervisor Course

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – The Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) will present a course for audiologists and physicians currently involved in occupational hearing conservation or thinking about expanding their services or practice into occupational hearing conservation. This unique course is titled "The Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Component of Hearing Conservation Programs."  
Federal recordkeeping and reporting requirements are increasing demands for audiologists and physicians that can serve as “Professional Supervisors” of hearing conservation programs. Lectures and case presentations will illuminate details of regulatory requirements and successful hearing loss prevention programs, including these topics:

• Roles and responsibilities of the Professional Supervisor
• Elements and organization of  successful hearing conservation programs
• Surviving new OSHA, MSHA, FRA recordkeeping regulations
• Latest tools to identify and prevent noise-induced hearing loss
• Guidelines for audiometric baseline revision and medical referral
• Managing “problem audiograms”
• Work relatedness and workers compensation

This CAOHC-sponsored course, aimed at audiologists and physicians, will be held on November 3, 2007.  This course now leads to certification that will confirm your advanced training in audiometric issues in occupational hearing conservation as a Professional Supervisor. Individuals seeking certification must complete an application, on-line exam and submit a sample case within 30-business days of the course.

Attendees will receive continuing education or medical credits, a copy of the Hearing Conservation Manual 4th Edition, Second Printing (with valuable ANSI and OSHA standards), and unique training materials.
