The Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Program© (PS/A) Workshop is an intermediate-level, full-day course. It emphasizes the real-world application of audiology expertise as encountered in occupational settings.
Lectures review the current literature and practice guidelines. Instructors present employee case studies for participant problem-solving, critical thinking and small-group discussion.
Case presentations discuss PS responsibilities, guidelines for managing problem audiograms and determination of work-relatedness.
This workshop is ONLY intended for military or federal audiologists, physicians (MD, DO) and otolaryngologists, who supervise and review audiometric testing from hearing loss prevention (HLP) programs.
Any federally employed or military hearing conservation-related professionals are also invited to participate in this course; however, are not eligible to take the certification exam.
Participants should have prior understanding of governmental regulations in and components of hearing loss prevention programs and interest, or experience in making work-related determinations for occupational noise-induced hearing loss.
*Note: Pre-read assignments will be emailed to each participant once they have registered for the workshop. Workshop material will be made available via a jump drive the day of, so please bring a laptop with you to the workshop.
