Who is the Course Director?
The Course Director (CD) is a certified hearing conservation specialist that is specifically trained to coordinate and teach CAOHC-approved courses for Occupational Hearing Conservationists (OHC). Because of the extensive requirements needed to become a CAOHC CD, they are considered subject matter experts in hearing conservation.

How do I become a Course Director?
A CD candidate must have specific training and needs a license (as an Audiologist, Nurse, or Doctor) or a certification (as an Industrial Hygienist, CIH; Noise Control Engineering, INCE Bd. Cert.; or Safety Professional, CSP). They must also have 1000 hours of work experience in hearing conservation and must have worked with another CD to have helped teach an OHC course.

3) Wait for your form to be reviewed and approved. You will receive an email, at the email address you provided, when your form has been approved.

- All approved OHC courses you will be teaching are listed on the CAOHC’s website (unless you request otherwise).
- Your Course Director contact information is listed in the CD directory
- Virtual Course Director meetings are held regularly
- CAOHC provides an extensive library of online resources specifically developed for CDs.
- CAOHC sells mailing list to CDs which include expiring COHCs needing a recertification course.
