CD Training
To Certify for the first time:
1.) Click here to complete your CD Prerequisite Profile.
All participants must first completed and submit a CD Prerequisite Profile in order to register for a course. To see the list of prerequisites, click here.
Once your profile is completed, click SUBMIT and CAOHC staff will review it. Please click SUBMIT only one time and allow enough time for your profile to be reviewed by CAOHC staff. Profiles are reviewed weekly. Once reviewed, you will receive an email indicating you are APPROVED to sign up for a course. INCOMPLETE submissions will be denied.

To Recertify:
1.) Click here to complete your CD Prerequisite Profile.
Only those who were previously granted a Course Director Certification and who have not yet expired may opt to recertify. Start by completing a CD Prerequisite Profile. Once approve, participants can choose from one of two options for recertification. If a current CD provides the required qualifications, only then will they be given the option to sign up for the Exam Only. See option 2 below.
2.) Review the Recertificaiton options below. Click here to sign up for a CD workshop.
Option 1: Complete the eight-hour CAOHC CD workshop and the examination with a passing score of 80% or higher.
Option 2. Skip the eight-hour CD workshop and complete just the on-line examination with a passing score of 80% or higher.
To qualify for this option, participants must provide verification of having Fulfilled at least two of the following items during the prior five-year credential term:
1. Serve as CD for a minimum of 10 OHC courses with no substantiated violations of CAOHC policies and procedures.
2. Accrue a minimum of 10 continuing education contact hours related to Occupational Hearing Conservation.
3. Actively participate on a CAOHC committee or task force for at least two full years.
4. Participate as an approved instructor in one or more CAOHC sponsored CD workshops.
Associated Fees:
Training Course (civilian) ........... $500
Training Course (military only)... $0 (participant MUST register for a "Military Only" course to receive it at no charge. Exam fees apply)
CERTIFICATION & EXAM:
Initial certification Exam..... $200
Re-certification Exam......... $150
Must be paid in full 7 days prior to the training date.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
In the event an in-person or virtual CD course is cancelled or rescheduled, CAOHC will offer to refund any fees that were collected directly by CAOHC. If a participant chooses to cancel their registration 2 weeks prior to the start of an in-person or virtual course, they will receive a full refund of their fee minus (-) a processing fee of $100. No refund will be granted for cancellations received after the course has been started; however, the amount may be applied to a another CAOHC course.
